CSQG Raffle Quilt
The Colorado Secretary of State has given CSQG permission to cancel our Raffle Quilt drawing scheduled for December 10, 2020. Due to the Pandemic, the raffle quilt committee has not been able to attend the venues that we normally go to to sell raffle tickets. Also, we did not feel it was safe for our members to sell raffle tickets to the public in person. To date 15 members have turned in their packet of tickets and money. We will be issuing refunds to them by the end of June. We ask that any member who has their packet of unsold tickets to mark them null and void and if possible return them to us. You can mail them to the guilds mailbox - P.O. Box 8221 - Colorado Springs, CO 80933 - or call Deb Perkins 970-846-1400 or Laura Spano 719-679-8741 and we will pick them up.
The raffle quilt committee and the Board felt that the Quilt Joan Musick made was too amazing to go for too little. The Dutch Rose raffle quilt will be raffled off next year.
GUILD MEETING CANCELLED
There will be NO January or February meeting of the Colorado Springs Quilt Guild. This decision was based on our continuing concerns about the Covid virus, current restrictions, and availability of our meeting place.
The CSQG Board continues to meet the second Tuesday of the month by Zoom to discuss Guild business.
Stay safe and healthy.
In the event of inclement weather, CSQG will follow the same closure information of School District 11. If School District 11 is experiencing any delays or closures, we will not have a guild meeting.
The Streets of Colorado Springs
Here are the rules:
This year we will look to the street names of our city for inspiration for our challenge quilts. There are no requirements for quilt size. We would just like to see your finished(or mostly finished) quilt at the reveal. You have several options to find a street for your inspiration.
1. You may use the name of the street where you live.
2. You may choose a street name that inspires you. It just needs to be a street in Colorado Springs.
3. You may interpret the street name any way you wish.
The reveal will be held at the November general meeting.
“Block of the Quarter” (BOQ) is a quick and easy way to learn new piecing techniques while contributing to member quilts. Each quarter, the BOQ Committee selects a unique block pattern. Complete a block and bring it to the designated monthly guild meeting and your name will be entered into a raffle to win blocks made by members.
