The COLORADO SPRINGS QUILT GUILD (CSQG) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the art of quilting by providing an opportunity for sharing ideas and learning new techniques. Founded in 1987 by a small group of women sharing a common interest in quilting. What began as a Quilting Bee has grown into a large non profit organization of 100 plus members. Incorporated as a 501(c)(7) in 1998, we range from true beginners, to experienced instructors, brought together by a shared love of quilting and a desire to learn.
The purpose of the guild is to expand the knowledge of quilt making; promote the appreciation of fine quilts; sponsor and support quilting activities and quilters' expertise through education, programs and workshops; and provide public service projects for the good of the community.
Our Facebook page is a closed group for Members Only to post their projects, ask questions, and share experiences.
Board members are selected by a nominating committee and then voted into office by the membership. The slate of officers is presented to the membership at the November meeting, with additional nominations from the floor, and elections are held.

The Colorado Springs Quilt Guild has a long standing tradition of presenting its outgoing president with a quilt or quilt blocks, made by guild members, to commemorate
her years of leadership.
December is the month we say good-bye to the Guild Board and welcome in the new Board for the upcoming year. Our outgoing President, Kala (White) Marshall , has served for two years and will still continue as an outstanding member of our guild.

The purpose of the Sunshine Committee is to uplift guild members going through challenging situations. The guild would like this person to know they are being thought of by sending a card or note to brighten their day.
Cards are sent on behalf of the guild on the event of a death in the family, illness, surgery or in times of stress. If you know of a member who is ill or has had a death in their immediate family please notify the Sunshine Committee so a sympathy card can be sent.
Through their generosity, the Colorado Springs Quilt Guild has donated countless handmade quilts to support charity projects and individuals in need. Theses projects rely on the generosity of our members with their time and material donations. Members can make quilts on their own with their fabric or the guild will have precut kits available. Charities we are currently working with are:
Comfort quilts are provided to members of the guild who are experiencing a personal challenge in their lives. When a guild member becomes seriously ill, we want to show them our support and offer them comfort by making a lap size quilt. Blocks are collected and made into tops, then quilted. As the need arises, the quilts are presented to guild members.
Our goal is to have at least five comfort quilts on hand at all times, so that a quilt can be presented as the need arises.
